UPS.com feature request…

Almost every time I’ve gotten shipments via UPS, I’ve missed the delivery. The nice thing is that I generally know that the driver shows up about 6pm. But, that hasn’t helped me. What’s nice, is that I can log onto the UPS website to track the package, and I can see that a package has been picked up, then that it’s in Georgia, then that it’s been scanned in Sacramento, etc.  What isn’t helpful, is that once I can see WHEN the package will be delivered, there’s no …

eBay is now screwing up feedback…

I think one of the best things about eBay was the ability to leave feedback about transactions. Well, they’ve just changed that. Now, the message is: Even though it’s usually the Seller who would receive bad feedback from a Buyer, it’s not good to limit something that has worked so well for so long. As for me, I’ll no longer be leaving ANY feedback of ANY kind. eBay has blown it… AGAIN.

Microsoft to pay search-engine users…

Seems like a good idea… when you’ve got BILLIONS of dollars to try out an idea and not have a loss affect you, give it a shot. Here’s the article – Microsoft to pay search-engine users – (MSNBC.com) – It looks more like a rebate, but hey… free money is free money… And so what if Microsoft has to track what stuff I buy… Target, Best Buy and every other retailer already does that. AfriCam… WOW!

It’s not often that I’m really amazed by technology. And especially not a WEBCAM! But in this case… WOW. This is a LIVE webcam from Nkorho, Africa. They are using an EverFocus camera that will automatically follow the movements of animals in the shot, or, if there are no animals, it will scan the area until it finds something. Also, it zooms in (A LOT!) to get AMAZING video of real African animals. If the image gets boring, the camera will pan back and scan the area for …

Before you buy… check RipOffReport.com

As a computer geek, people often ask me about buying online.  Personally, I buy A LOT of stuff online.  I’m less worried about credit card theft online, than I am about the companies who "sell" their wares.  I have had many bad experiences with companies because I didn’t check them out first. My examples have gone like this:  There’s this thing that want, so I search on Google, Froogle, or some other website that lists items for sale from various vendors.  I find the item I want and …

FlashMemoryStore.com … Part 1

I am a HUGE customer service FREAK!  I believe strongly in that old saying "The customer is always right".  No, that doesn’t mean the car dealership should replace your car if you don’t like it after three months – it means, if you buy an item or service and are not satisfied with it, the company that sold you that item or service should do whatever they can (obviously within reason) to make you happy.  Why?  Because of another old saying "Make one customer happy, and they MAY …
